What would you guys think if Drew & 35th swapped intakes, no other mods, and 35th ran faster mphs than Drew? Now wouldn't that say something......

If Drew's mph increases with the lid or 35th's mph decreases with the FIPK, then that would say something too.

The baseline is set.......Drew & 35th.... try it out next weekend!

You guys won't be happy unit the Lid does better <img border="0" alt="[whiner]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_cry.gif" /> we will try it though.

<img border="0" alt="[hail]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_hail.gif" /> Lid <img border="0" alt="[guns]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_guns.gif" /> FIPK

Ready 35th, and I got my FIPK for $260 <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

But we are running on stock F1's and 1/4 tank of gas, sound good <img border="0" alt="[Fluffy]" title="" src="graemlins/fluffy.gif" />

Hey Drew, I say go back to the track and run the lid/FRA then the FIPK on your ride. Seems like you're the more consistent driver and the results will hold a little more water. I have to agree with the non-believers here because testing the 2 different intakes on 2 different cars really doesn't mean much.

And as for you Futurestrader, how about growing up a little and taking things on these BB's in stride? You always have some sort of snide comment. Get it together buddy.

Rex, we can both do four runs and then swicth and hopefully we can do four more runs, to make everyone happy <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

I might have to break down and buy a Pro Gas sticker <img border="0" alt="[whiner]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_cry.gif" />

Dave, if you want to use my FIPK for the show you can or atleast try it out before you buy one.

Let me know.

Im up for that.whatever it takes just to make some of our fellow f-body members satisfied.after all were all here to share info. and help each other out. Ya you might need that pro gas sticker to make things go alot faster rather than waiting for at least half hour to make a pass.I think its worth it for a whole year. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

i read that and laughed!

two different cars?????? ok, i know PLEANTY of people with the same mods as me, yet ive run in the 11s and they run mid 12s <img border="0" title="" alt="[Roll Eyes]" src="images/icons/rolleyes.gif" />

and what about FTRA? not testing that anymore?

this is how to test-

you need sticky tires to make the 60's consistant.

reset the pcm- put the FTRA/Lid combo on- run 4 times.

reset the pcm- block the FTRA, put the FIPK on- run 4 times.

if there is time, repeat for changing weather conditions.

everyone says the FIPK is better, yet they show skewed results. why is that?

show real data and people will believe.

BWAAAHAHHAHAHAHAAA!!!!

a) TWO different cars...no swapping intakes
b) DIFFERENT mods...different 60's...minimal mph gain
c) inconclusive results PERIOD

why is this post even at the top?

thats like putting a FIPK on my car and racing trevor with his lid on the car...oh, but i almost beat him.... <img border="0" title="" alt="[Confused]" src="images/icons/confused.gif" />

In my first post I was just being sarcastic, I immediately followed up saying I was just having "FUN". Have you read all my post in this thread, you will see that I am being very supportive. I have followed this FIPK/LID dispute as close as anybody on this board, including LS1.com, CamaroZ28.com, MFBA.org, etc...its not just an issue on LS1tech. However, since LS1tech.com gets the most respect, people are always commenting on what goes on "HERE", they always use LS1tech as their "reference".

Ten dynos have shown gains with the FIPK (All with hood open). Gains from 3-12 HP "OVER" Lid.

One dyno from "Weatherguy" (Hood closed) showed a loss of 24 HP. This is what started all the controversy. "Weatherguy" is the first to test with hood closed, nobody had dynoed this way before. He also has a high horsepower engine 422 cubic inch, everybody else was stock or slightly modified.

I have seen several track times, all of them lower ets with FIPK vs Lid. I have stated from day one, that this FIPK has never been tested correctly, as far as I'm concerned, track times don't lie, if done correctly. Nobody on this board has seen these mods tested correctly, its all speculation. Myself, Steve2000SS, 01-Z, MysticZ28, formulate, etc... have made comments in support of the FIPK and everyone "Jumped on our ***" with ridiculous comments on how the FIPK doesn't work.

I need to see several track runs before I can claim either one a "Winner", which I hope is soon. Lets get this FIPK issue behind us. Now, I'm hearing that Lid is better for quarter mile, and FIPK is better for street racing from a roll & autocross. I'll be glad when its over.
