F1,

Look real closely at your 3rd picture. In between each port you will notice a small scratch(mar) in the finish of the polish. This is caused by the 3 inner head bolts washer sticking out to far from the recess for the bolt. Run your hand or a flat bar across that area on the head and you will see what I mean. You should probably do what we did and grind just enough of the washer off to allow the manifold to seat. I also reccomend using the countersinking drill bit on the VALLEY PAN,(it's actually sitting up on the heads of the valley pan bolts as well as the intake manifold cover palte) and going with the countersunk head screws, should fix the problems. Did you dyno before the intake install? I'm curious to see what you gained, please let me know. BTW, I noticed you have N02...I don't yet but am thinking about it.Hope this helps,

P.S, you might want to thinh about grinding some material off the heads of the cover plate screws also.Look at the top of the valley pan and see if you can see any marks that might line up with the screw heads, we did 3 of them were hitting. Send me an e-mail if you need more help, Ill give you my phone number and we can talk thru you thru it.

Mark

Thanks for your help Mark.. Well it's in and running great.. I went ahead a bought new button head bolts for the valley pan on the motor, ground down the edges of the head bolt washers and counter sunk the access plate with 100 degree screws.. It now fit the way it should.. I talked to holley and they knew about the screws, but no other problems.. They say the gasket will absorb the head bolt washers sticking out.. The other obsticle was the egr.. I made a custom plate to fit in there and sealed it down.. Here are some more pics..

Sweet looking intake I personaly am staying away from it becuase of the added heat that comes with the aluminum intake. It would be a big plus on a power adder only car but not a NA car i think unless you like getting in 3 passes a night lol. ETs will go to hell fast with that intake on a all motor car in my opinion.

HEAT SOAK????? Why would there be heat soak with cars this cool??

Yeah that was corny but, you can always solve that problem with a bag of ice.

F1,
The manifold install looks great , glad I could help. When we did it nobody else had done it yet so it was totally trial and error. I bet we had that manifold on and off the engine at least 6 times trying to figure it out, sure helps when someone can offer some experienced advise. I didn't want to take any chances so where you put the button head screws we used large area countersunk sunk flush mounted allen key screws. What Holley told you about the gasket absorbing the head bolt washer contacting the gasket is pure Bull Shi_. I should go back and ask them why then did the gasket have 3 distinct cuts on both sides where the washers contacted the gasket material. I hate to be the bearer of bad tidings but I've been contending with the dreaded heat soak issue, this manifold does get and retain alot of heat, even after letting the car cool for a minimum of 1/2 an hour the manifold is still very hot to the touch. I just ordered an NX kit, the nitrous will give me quite a bit of extra power and should help cool the manifold. Let me know what kind of gains you see with the Holley I'm still curious to see what others get. Thanks,

Mark
