Default Installed K&N FIPK on Project Dragula

I bought an FIPK a while back, and I finally put it on. The bellows do not fit onto a 85mm MAF. I kept the stock bellow from the MAF to the TB.

I could not get on it, but I'll try it out when it stops raining this weekend.

Hey John

Are you gonna dyno that puppy? <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

When do you think you'll test out that intake you were talking about? <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

John <img border="0" alt="[cheers]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_cheers.gif" />

PSJ,

It takes a little time to strech it over the 85mm MAF but it will fit. I test fit my Pace unit the other night just to make sure it would work. Let me know if you lose anything over the lid with the hood closed <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" /> I want someone to prove it will produce at least the same so I don't have to sell mine and replace it with something else lol <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

PSJ, didn't you listen to Terry Bugger? He has tested the FIPK and he said it is no good. EVERYBODY knows that Terry is GOD on this board. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Roll Eyes]" src="images/icons/rolleyes.gif" /> <img border="0" alt="[boring]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_zzz.gif" /> <img border="0" alt="[barf]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_barf.gif" />

He's given a lot of help to people, including myself. If I had as much experience with LS1's, I probably would have a "Little Chip" on my shoulder also, he's earned it.

BTW Terry, have you heard when anybody might be putting this FIPK on a dyno "With the Hood Closed" hehe!!!

As DerekHLS1Freak said, I would be happy if it produced the same results as a Lid, I just don't want to Lose any HP/TQ.

I might dyno again in a couple of weeks since I changed some stuff.

I am going to have to chase that OEM-fit aftermarket intake. This intake uses stock fuel rails and has been ported.

I like the design of the FIPK.

1. Cost a Lot more $$$
2. Used in many Factory High Performance cars from factory ie: 'Vette, Porsche, etc...
3. Mobil, Amsoil, Royal Purple, etc...I can't beleive these companies all believe that this is just "Hype"
4. Most NASCAR, NHRA, etc... use synthetic
5. GM High Tech Mag, Horsepower TV, Speedvision, Pontiac Mag, Road & Track, etc... claim a 1-3% HP gain
6. I don't think it can hurt???
7. All the articles that I've read clearly state the superior benefits of synthetics.
