T.B. question

While doing the FRA mod yesterday i noticed a deep black residue on the inside of the Throttle Body. The black residue was also starting to make it's way through the hole and to the outside of the blade. The residue seemed to be dry and has a grimy/soot-like texture. Is this oil buildup? Is this normal?

I have a 98 TA, M6, stock besides shifter and catback. ~40,000 miles

Ideas?

Yes it's oil. It's normal. Open up the TB and look inside. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />

Yeah, i did take a peek inside.

I was just not sure whether the build-up was normal because i had never heard anyone ask about it.
