Jeez. I was just toolin around when all of the sudden, my exhaust got louder, the idle got rough, it smelled like burnig mexican food, I heard a slapping, and my SES light flashed when I accelerated. It was 5:30 and Speed Inc was closed so I called my Chevy dealer. They said mybe something with a plug wire, so I checked it and the first on on the left side, the boot was hanging down!! Boy was I relieved it was relatively easy to get to and fix.
-Why did it just fall off like that???
-My car seemed to be ******* the past few weeks, could the wire have been slipping off causing a performance loss, because it is noticably smoother and DOES accelerate the best it has in a while.
Thank God it was nothing expensive! The wire didn't burn either.
Whew. If someone could at least answer the second question that would be cool!
Thanx

Yeah, it's evidently been degrading for while to just fall off like that. Although I think our stock wires are generally good, the stockers on my '96 Camaro were terrible.
