Default Exhaust installation

I have been calling around to exhaust shops to get pricing for the installation of the SLP dual dual cat-back on my car. They all ask me if the rear end has to be dropped to do the install. I haven't gotten the system yet, but I am thinking that the rear end doesn't have to be dropped or there would be a lot less people with aftermarket systems. What is a reasonable price to have a shop install this system and how long should it take them??

No, it does not need to be dropped.

Should I just cut the old I-pipe with a Sawzall, or will it come off in tact?

I paid 30 bucks at the local exhuast shop to have my catback welded up. I am more than satisfied

Anyone notice if you take your car to an exhaust shop (midas, mieneke etc.) that the price of doing exhaust work is less then half what a high perfomance shop wants for the same work. I will never again have my exhaust touched by the speed shop. Just my .02 cents.

Never noticed. I go to a little shop back in the country, he does practically all the work for everyone around here. When I was there he was just finishing up the true duals on a Jag XJ6 sedan that had a LT1 in it
