Borla vs SLP y-pipe
I had the SLP on my 99 Z28 and it banged the floor board on when I shifted gears and torqued up the car. Does the Borla y-pipe fit any better.
I believe the 01-02 y-pipes are bolt ins, I know the y-pipe for my 99 was a weld in piece. Maybe this will make a difference.
I have the bolt-in ’00 and up SLP Y-pipe. It does not bang anywhere, and it fits with the SLP 3-pt SFCs just fine. Excellent quality piece. Only thing was, I had to remove the tunnel brace because the Y-collector hung too low to bolt it back up. No big deal to me though, many people have removed that brace for weight savings and had no ill effect. I think the 3pt SFCs more than make up the difference in supporting the center of the floor pan...

EXACTLY everything he said. I used to have it for my 00. You'll be fine with the SLP Y for your 02.

I don't think the Y Borla or SLP's is on average going to gain much hp.
For a cheaper and just as effective fix, have the muffler shop cut out the flat section and weld in a new pipe. I've heard this will cost as little as $60-$70 and it's just as effective as the SLP or Borla.

If $125.00 includes shipping to 23831(VA.), I will take you up on the offer of the Y-pipe. PM, post, or email me at vawj@comcast.net. I am looking for that Y-pipe for a friend and I could save him a bunch this way.
