Air restrictor plates? need help.
I have been trying to find the source of a noise I get at PT and between hi rpm shifts (down reving) and have decided it is an exhaust leak somewhere. I have checked everything out looking for a carbon trail but found under my driver side middle two header pipes at the flange have some rust. They are hookers with ceramic coating and had them on the car approx. 6 month. Is this normal and expected or is this a sign I have some leakage there. I have heard others mention this sound could come from the air pipe connection and can be remedied with "restriction plates". WTF are these and how do I go about this?
Thanks for the help!

THANKYOU! ROB SS. The description is extremely thorough except it indicates to replace the check valves....where are they located? Will I find them once I have the flanges apart?
Thanks for the help....

pace parts.com has a kit for the plates & gaskets. Just be sure to trim the drivers side to clear the lip on the motor.

Yeah, I just ordered the AIR restrictor kit today from Pace Parts too since my FLPs are scheduled to be here on Monday http://www.paceparts.com/product.asp?3=3062
If you haven't had your headers on for that long, you probably don't need to replace the check valves but if you get an SES lights, that's probably where it's coming from
