Is this hurting my 4L60E?
I took the screen off my MAF, now after 100 miles of driving I noticed that my shifts are softer. Is this hurting my tranny any? There isnt anything out for 02s to change the pressure yet (hpp3, LS1edit. Should I just get another screened stock MAF?

If I remember correctly, the 01-02's MAP Sensor gets imbalanced weith intake/exhaust mods and this causes the tranny to shift at less than 100% at WOT. Eventually, you'll roast your 3-4 clutches like I did.

Could it also be a change it temperature outside? I know it's alot hotter here this week. It couldnt hurt to check your tranny fluid also (while the car is running).

I am pretty **** about my car (as are most of you), and I could definately tell the shifts are softer. I can barely feel them now, especially the 1-2 shift. It almost feels like one gear, since the shifts are so soft.

I seriously doubt removing the screen has anything to do with your shifts. Do the basics first....check your tranny fluid level. When did you do this mod? Has the weather and air temps changed lately?

Devilbird: How would air temps affect tranny pressure? The temp has been constantly a dry 80-85 degrees around here. However, the softer shifts happened after I descreened the MAF (nothing else done to car since). I will check the fluid level.
