Back pressure as related to low end torque
argument is that it's possible for me to install too large of a Y-pipe and/or cat back and would
subsequently lose low end torque. I'm sure most of you have heard this theory before. I feel that a large
pipe after the exhaust pulses have been timed and aligned will not have an adverse affect on low end
torque. And I feel there is no logical reason why it would. Certainly a mismatched exhaust system
could result in a loss of power and torque across the board. But there's no reason a 4" cat back on a
Civic (for example) would cause a loss in low end torque. Please let me know your thoughts on this.
We've been going back and forth for a while here and I'm looking for some external thoughts on the
subject. TIA
