Default FLP header installation and the dreaded SES light

I have just recently installed FLP/ORPs on my 01 WS6 and have been having numerous problems with the SES light, rough idle and the car backfiring <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="gr_eek2.gif" />

The car idles very rough-not sure if the PCM is trying to relearn or not <img border="0" title="" alt="[Confused]" src="images/icons/confused.gif" />

While the car idles at about 800-900 RPMs and while out on the highway the SES light comes on and the car backfires occassionally <img border="0" title="" alt="[Confused]" src="images/icons/confused.gif" />

I have already tried the PCM reset and it only worked for a few minutes

ANY HELP WILL BE GREATLY APPRECIATED <img border="0" alt="[whiner]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_cry.gif" />

The mods thus far: PPMaf sensor; 3" FlowMaster 80 series exhaust; Hurst skip-shift eliminator; K$N filter;

Is the engine vibrating a lot? A friend of mine chipped a plug on the install and his seemed to do similar to what yours is doing. Check all the plugs and wires to make sure. Also if it is the idle check the air tube, see if the gaskets are still in working condition and not leaking. Im assuming you have the EGR blocked off the headers if you got some 98 style headers?? Check the obvious first..hope ya get it fixed soon. Least you didnt break a header bolt off in the head like I did..
Good luck.

Not sure if I chipped a plug or nut but, my car is vibrating really bad. I'll check the plugs and I'll buy new ones.

I purchased 01' FLP headers there was no EGR but just AIR hookups

However, concerning the AIR tubes, I do need new gaskets and I have not blocked them off "yet" not sure if I'm supposed to block them of or drill a hole in the block off for a little air flow?

<img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="gr_eek2.gif" /> I would have died if I broke a bolt off into the head

Thanks for your help <img border="0" title="" alt="[Razz]" src="gr_tounge.gif" />
