Default rail mount fuel pressure gauge

I want to mount a fuel pressure gauge on the schnider valve of my fuel rail. I was looking at one made by Accel on Jeg's web site

http://www.jegs.com/cgi-bin/ncommerc...851&prmenbr=76

It says they are for 1990 to 1992 TPI fuel systems. Would this fit on the LS1 fuel system? If not, where can I get one that will fit.

Thanks

Chris

You should try to find a 0-100psi gauge. The LS1 runs around 58-60 psi. Too close to the upper limit of a 60psi gauge. LS1speed.com has a T adapter that lets you mount to the scraeder valve and still retain the features of the valve. Autometer makes some nice 0-100psi fuel pressure gauges that would mount to it.

Thanks, so does this mean that all the gauges use the same thread? Could I just buy an Auto Meater fuel pressure gauge and mount it on my fuel rail?

The end of the fuel rail is just a -4AN.

01 camaro guy, just wondering before you make this purchase... what is your objective?

you dont have an adjustable fuel pressure regulator do you?

if not then you will just be looking at a steady 59ish psi and thats it.

if you need it checked under load then you should spend the extra $30 for the auto meter in cab one. jegs has it im sure.

if you are just looking to make sure it is running at correct pressure, then go borrow one from pep boys for an afternoon.

fyi when hooking it up odds are you will have to remove the shrader valve, so get a valve removal tool while you are in pep boys, like $2 you can take it back if you dont use it depending on the gauge... so dont be alarmed if you initially see 0psi.. this is why. careful when removing it i would pull the power to the fuel system or unplug the coils and start the car so that the rail will not be full of 69psi gasoline when you uncap it. good luck

Mightymouse, yesterday I had my car stall out on the side of the road. The TPS unit was burned out. The night before I was getting a P0122 code, the sensor was only reading 8% open throttle when I had it on the floor, and without my foot on the gas the car was running at 3500 RPM (I drove at 71 MPH for several miles in 6th gear with my foot OFF the peddle). Once the car stalled out, I could not get it cranked again. I spent a good 30 minuets hunting around trying to find something else that might have been preventing the engine from running. Through it all I kept saying to myself "It would really be nice to have a gauge on that fuel rail to tell me if I had pressure." I have been thinking of putting one on for a while but now I am going to do it. As soon as I got the car towed down to the dealership, I walked in, bought another TPS, put it on, and VROOOOMMMM...off I went.

I already have a pod with two gauges in it so can't put one there. I just want this for underhood checks (like you have on carbs.....). Anyways, I got a gauge today. The fuel rail is a 1/8th fine thread so it was a direct fit(just get a connector from a hardware store).

Thanks for all the help guys,

Chris
