Default Torque the thermostat bolts to 7 lbs... what if instead...

I just tighen them snug? I have no way to measeure 7lbs, can I just tighten them the old fashion way? who has done this? I know this may sound like a stupid question but I have heard of guys breaking off the bolts in LS1 thermostats, is this common or just a fluke?

Use a 10mm box wrench or a 1/4" rachet and you won't have those problems. Your arm has a built in Torque Wrench if you'll just use it. Your wrist is in inch/lbs. and your elbow is in foot/lbs. Your shoulder is for everything over 250 ft./lbs.
