Will a Trans Mount solve my FLPs from banging??? I have really bad banging from the Off road pipe on the drivers side. I did put some fuel hose under there which stopped it some, but in stop and go traffic where you let out the clutch then have to put it back in the pipes hit really bad. Also is reverse they hit really bad. I am just about fed up with them. I was told by Mitch @FLP that simply replacing the trans mount will solve the problem. I did have the car at FLP a while back to have them fix the problem, but that didn't work. I love the way the car sounds but I am ready to throw the cats back on and I really do not want to do that. Please help out w/any suggestions. TIA really do appreciate the help -- Michael

So no, the tranny mount won't completely eliminate the banging.

Re: Will a Trans Mount solve my FLPs from banging??? I had a poly trans mount prior to installing my FLP's. My y-pipe would not even line up on the driver-side because it was hitting the unit body brace that runs from the sub-frame to the transmission cross-member mount. I had to get a BFH ( big hammer) and beat the tar out of it to get it to line up. It had about 1/4" of clearance between the pipe and the brace. With the poly mount already installed it banged when engaging the clutch to get rolling, launching hard or shifting aggressively. Then after that I beat on it more to get 3/4" of clearance total between the pipe and this brace. No banging at all now, even at the track <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" /> !!

I found out yesterday that if I give it a little gas before letting up on the clutch the FLPs do not bang at all. Weird but it works for now. Thanks again for the help fellas, I think that I will look into the Tourqe strap.
