Default Ls6?

Hey, I was wondering how you could tell if you were one of those lucky people that received a LS6 instead of a LS1?

Thanks for the input, does anyone have an idea or is this a stupid question?

driver's side of the engine - try and see the back of the left-hand deck, you will need a mirror and flashlight. A cast-in #12561168 denotes the LS6 block

You mean LS6 block, right? You know that there were no LS6 ENGINES installed in F-bodies, right?

O.K. that really helps clear up a lot of questions I had. Thats why I beat an identacle car like mine but he had an LS6 or so he says. Obvuosly that doesn't mean a thing. Thanks for the help.

You didn't beat anything because of your engine block, no F-bodys got the LS6 motor.. just the block or intake manifold. 01+ LS1's will generally put down more HP due to the manifold. The block gives you no gains.

and possibly less oil usage. I'm wondering if having the ls-6 block helps in this case. I have 60,000 plus on my car and it doesn't use a drop of oil. I drive it pretty hard also. Anyone have an ls-6 block with oil usage problems. pcv or rings?

If it has the LS6 valley cover then yes the oil usage or lack thereof will be much better than the LS1. I want an LS6 valley cover
