Default Want to pull the A/C, whats involved ???

Well I got the A/C recharged about 1-2 weeks after my cam install, and I went to crank it up one day and all I got was the lovely luke warm air...I assume the seals are shot...

I really don't want to waste money getting a new condenser or whatever needs replacing...

How hard is it to remove all of the A/C components? Any special tools needed, and whats the hardest part involved, any step by step write ups or "de-intall" pages...

Thanks,
Bos

No special tools required... I think the bolts are 10mm... Just unbolt the lines, remove the condenser, compressor and accumulator and you are done... piece of cake.

Yeah, it just sits in grommets like the radiator.

You don't need any special tools for the lines either.

Where is the accumulator located? The compressor is the main thing that feeds into all the lines right?

Also how long did it take you?

And where is the best place to start?

The accumulator is the aluminum "can" in the line on the front passenger side. I would remove the A/C lines from the evaperator box and the condenser first, the accumulator will come out with this. Then remove the compressor and bracketry and finally the condenser.

It's not hard, just make sure and bleed all the pressure off first (if there is any left).

I`m going to yank my a/c also. I would not have gotten it if I had the option anyway. Will it throw any codes? Chris ARE 360 removed his too I think? Maybe he could chime in also. I am almost certain that in `94, GM had an a/c delete option for the F-bodies. If I am indeed correct, I wonder if you can buy/order the non-a/c blower motor housing from a dealer to replace the a/c housing? It`s bound to be smaller, thereby giving you more room in the engine compartment. And, maybe the non-a/c heater controls would fit in `98 or newer dash boards giving it a factory "look". Anyone NOT think I`m completly out of my mind???

I don't think any codes will be thrown, its really not a problem...I am going to Yank mine tomorrow night most likely, if there is a lot of freon coming out and it still seams like the system is fully charged, then its got to be the compresser...
