Default Evap system information HELP!

hey guys...yet again i have another sweet paper to do for one of my automotive classes. This time i get to write up a paper on the Evaporative emissions system of the LS1. What i really need is a components list of the EVAP system, a diagram of the whole system to help me out, and maybe if any of you could help out with some sort of a explanation, or links to sources that might help explain the specific ls1 evap system. Ha im not expecting you guys to do my homework for me, but any information or sources you guys could lead me to would be awesome!

Thanks

There's a line leaving the tank that comes up beside the stock fuel lines. It's got a hose running to the solenoid (which vents the vapors into the intake manifold). I believe that solenoid is controled by the fuel tank pressure sensor and probably also has a fail safe PSI for if the pressure sensor stops working.

Not all that complex, mine is in the trash.

I don't know too much LS1 specific info about the EVAP system. But, I recently searched on Yahoo! and found some pretty decent information as to why cars have them and some different designs found on cars today. So, I'd point you in that direction as well.

Yeah.. use the WWW for what it was intended for.. Search and information sharing.. I did a quick Yahoo search and found a lot of info.. LS1Tech is a good forum, but it is only one site on the Intranet. You should also confine you data to proven and researched data for your report and not use hear say and seat of the pants posting and threads.

Since this a school project/assignment.. I'll let you do the reading.. but will point you to a lease one link that should start you in the correct path..

Good luckand let us know what grade you get )

I capped the intake manifold with a 3/8" vacuum cap, removed/unplugged the evap solenoid/lines all the way to the metal hardline. I then slipped a piece of 3/8" hose over the line and ran the other end down by the ABS block, it ends behind the driver side foglight and just vents the vapors there. I had to delete the EVAP/fuel tank pressure sensor codes so I wouldn't get the SES light though.
