Have you removed the 15mm bolt that holds the dipstick?

okay, my fault. when it was loose it created a gap between the block and the dipstick so i used a screwdriver and pryed it out. the ds still does not want to go up

pull the steering shaft and all the plugs on dr. side. i dont know what warning there talking about ive put on many sets of headers on camaros and vette's and had one car have a real problem (someone messed up on a bmr k member) when putting it back together makeshure that your tires are straight and the steerting wheel is at 12 o'clock

they are approxemnty straight (cant tell, car is at an angle in the garage) and do you have to remove both bolts or can you take one out and pull it loose? Also if its stuck, where and how would you hit it to break it loose? sorry first header install

I didnt have to remove anything other than the plugs when I installed my Jet hots on my SS. I did have to grind approx. 1/4" off the casting boss protruding off the side of the block, I believe it was the passenger side. Its only for assembly line purposes and is no longer needed anyway.

Put a block of wood or a phonebook on a jack and put it under the oil pan. Slowly jack it up. You should get a couple of inches of clearance from the engine lifting before the whole car starts to lift off your jackstands. It should give you room to get the drivers side header in. I did that and didn't have to grind the casting boss or remove the steering linkage.

The warning about the steering shaft is.....you have to tie up your steering wheel before you remove the shaft. Otherwise it will turn over 360 degrees and it will break your Clock Spring in the steering wheel. It will cause your Service Air Bag light to come on.
