all longtubes are illegal. period. california just enforces it harder than any other state. however, if you run cats, it makes it a lot harder to get caught. most people aren't going to notice if you moved the cats. there are so many cars out there - and they change every few years - who can keep track of the exact location of the cats?
You are correct, but the true meaning of "illegal" changes from state to state. 5pmh over the speed limit is illegal everywhere. Do it in my town, nobody notices. Do it in Doucette Texas and you're going to get pistol whipped.

As long as we have some kind of cats, most stations around here could care less where they're at. I'm hoping to convince them that the 4" bullet in my I-pipe is a "Magnaflow cat".

Depends on the response to it. If I get enough sales going I'll keep it going for another week.

We worked out a deal with a manufacture to sell there polished stainless steel race headers and y-pipe for LS F-bodies. We worked with them on producing them. They sent us mock ups and we cut and adjusted everything to fit perfect then they used the mock ups to produce a finish product. I have the finish product ones on my car now and had no fitment issues.

The headers have 1 ¾” primaries and 3” collectors and O2 bungs in the collectors
The Y-pipe is 3” with O2 bungs for Wideband tuning. You can contact us at
lpp@tampabay.rr.com

The Headers and Y-pipe togeather are $600 shipped
Headers alone are $450 shipped
Y-pipe alone is $250 shipped
I'm confused, the headers on www.not-a-sponsor.com are $325. Now I don't see the Y-pipe for sale on there but $450 vs. $325 is a bit steep for a mark up if your not getting things packaged together for $600 from you, no?

Also wouldn't that make the $550 GP price the same thing as if someone purchased the headers off the site and the y-pipe alone from you? Where is the savings involved in the GP?

Please give me the cause I feel like I am missing something here!

Yes you are missing something. The headers on their site are the emission style headers that they are not making anymore they dropped the price which was $550 for just the headers to $325 just to get rid of what they had left in stock. The one's I'm selling for them are the Race style headers they do not sell the race style headers or y pipe on their site. I'm the only one selling them. Does that clear it up for you

well i've personally seen over a dozen posts between the several fbody message boards i visit where people have had nothing but praise for the obx's. and obviously they aren't cats, they're resonators, which are just to cut down on possible rasp and maybe help you pass a visual inspection (i didnt want cats anyway). but for some reason only the xs ones are discussed on this board. thanks for offering a $50 gp savings on these though, as the price is playing a big factor in my decision (god damn premium gas is now over $3.50 a gallon here in NY!). i hope you run the gp for at least another week because i'm gonna need a few days to fully research both header types before i make my ultimate decision.

you honestly won't regret buying the XS ... the flange is much thicker than the OBX, and the quality of steel is really honestly much better as well...

their Y-pipe is top notch, I had to get mine adjusted since I did my install on jackstands, which didn't help my adjusting anything very easilly... but if you're using a drive on lift or know somebody with one, its an easy thing to do... exhaust shop also only charged me $20 to do it, so thats another option of course.

the XS ones are discussed more because they've been tried more... no one really wants to be the guinea pig on the OBX ...

coming from somebody who's got a set of the XS on his camaro, the install is smooth and easy, doesn't even require cutting of the casting tab, notching the k-member or moving the steering linkage ... they were really well thought out...

as has been said, however, every car is different... but these headers seem to be getting a lot of impressed customers because the fit is as good as or better than some of the major brands...

So if they are a sponsor you can say whatever about their products but if they aren't you aren't allowed to mention them?

Anyone fitted these up to a TD setup yet? Im interested to see what the fitment problems (if any) are.

Welcome aboard!

I got my headers and y-pipe today. Ship time was less than one week...cant complain about that. The headers look great but I am less than pleased with the Y-pipe. The y-pipe merge looks like it was fabricated by a blind 2 year old. I am in the process of taking some pics and will post them up
