What are you asking about exactly? PCV or AIR/EGR?

well do you have them all capped off??? b/c if so thats not a good idea, it will build crankcase pressure and may cause some problems you need to allow some air to let it breathe.

Exactly, you cannot keep them capped off and not have ventilation.

I didn't think it would really build up enough pressure to hurt anything, being a near stock motor....

K&N makes 1,000 different sizes. You can probably find on to fit no problem.

I know...I'll have to go to Autozone tomorrow...will it hurt it driving it for about 20 miles with the cap on?

I need one of those eclipse GS hoods with the little scoop to clear that thing!

Is it really that important to have a breather? At what point is one considered a "necessity", or is it really not that needed?

if you pull the plastic extension out of the vavle cover that will screw right in there

You need a breather, or a PCV, or an evac system. Otherwise the internal pressure will blow out seals, or the dipstick, or oil or...
