Default Cat location

A while back I had my cats removed and straight pipes put in their place. I am wanting to put Magnaflows back on but what I was wondering is where to put them? I don't really want to try to put them back in stock location.

The exhaust shop I have been using said he could cut out the flange where the y-pipe bolts together underneath the doors and put them there.

He told me Magnaflow makes a small, almost oval shaped converter that wouldn't cost me much if any ground clearance.

Anybody know anything about these? Is cutting at the flange a bad idea or is it even going to matter.

Thanks!

Put them after the headers and before the Y .. You may have to cut they Y depending on how it lines up

Yoy might consider a high-flow Y-pipe with cats' from Random Technologies. I thought I saw a whole system from them some time ago. You don't list that you have headers, but I probably missed something. If you have manifolds, why not just put them back in the stock position so you don't have to worry about ground clearance or smog issues (I don't know how Tennessee smogs).

Good luck.
