You are correct that is the IaT sensor.. not sure of the length, but the bolts you are talking about are tightened / loosemed with a 10mm wrench

I believe the bolts have 6mm threads, not sure of the pitch.

Anyone can give some advice on how to remove this IAT sensor from the air intake without damaging the sensor and/or the air intake? It seems to be stubornly attached with a rubber grommet or something?

no the iat lets the computer know incoming air temp to help adjust fuel & spark

the dash temp gauge is from the sensor in the side of the head near the #1 cyl exh port

yeah taht's what i thought.. reason i'm asking is because my temp guage heats up and reads, but the gauge won't go above like 110.. so I replaced the sensor on the driver side, but it didn't fix it.

That should be the sensor as far as the PCM reads is off of the driver side's cyl head, w/ exception of 1998, pretty much its a dummy guage. It works but its not as accurate.

As for the post it self.

I want to say yes.
