Default Before i debaffle my hood...

I don't drive my car in much rain but before i debaffle my hood, i am a bit confused. Why are there baffles in there anyways, i don't see how rain could make its way up my lid, through my air filter anyways.... Is it true that i don't really even need any baffles?

The other thing, in the event that some water does get into the engine through the intake, what will it do? I don't see how it could possibly hurt anything...

water cant be compressed so it will hydrlock your motor and can bust it wide open. however, i dont see any reason why you shouldnt debaffle your hood. ive got mine debaffled and sealed to the airbox, but im using a K&N filter to help with the water thing. a little bit of water isnt gonna do much, a few drops will just break up when it hits the filter and be the end of it.

Take them out. De-baffle and lid will get you a long ways.
