Default After install its just not loud enough!!

Ive had my Pacesetter LT's for about a month now an ive had my Magnaflow catback for about a year now. Before the LT's the sound was very tame. After the LT's for the first few weeks the sound was great. But now that im used to it I need more! So there are 2 options for me TSP TD setup, or a cutout setup. The cutoout setup would be faster an cheaper but im not sure about placement an if I need 1 or 2 of them. TSP TD set up is a full commitment to being loud as hell which im ready for. So if it were up to you which you do? Right now im on the fence about which I want to get and im currently tryin to search about placement for the cutout an if I need 1 or 2. Your opinions are welcome.

Try a cutout first, just one installed under the rear seat.

If the cutout was on just one side wouldnt it be a uneven sound? I have no expereince with cutouts but i was under the impression the cutout was place just after where the Y meets? But again I just started searching this so I have alot more to learn about this subject.

I wouldn't worry about the unevenness of the sound. This is the kind of loud that makes unevenness a minor issue.

What kind of loud are you looking for if you want just plain loud then an SLP would do the trick but its almost an annoying loud with longtubes just has a weird sound. But if you want a deep raspy loud go with TSP true duals I have them with bullets and love it but you'll notice interior resonance and there is gonna be some drone but if you can stand loud you'll love it.

But beware the police always pull me over thinking that I have straight pipes just how loud it is but then they see the mufflers and say they're sorry. lol

Im leaning on TD's cause im lookin for a deep tone, im not looking for that open header kinda sound. I did that after my LT install and it was a nice place to visit but I dont wanna live there you know? Ive heard a few clips of cut outs an they sound good but im sure placement has to play a role in the kinda sound they give. Discribing sound isnt a easy thing to talk about online but im looking for head turning loud with a good deep tone note but on the other hand im tryin to stay away from the open header scream. Guess im actin like a chic in the tampon section of walmart! I just cant deside

If i can get afriend to record my car when he gets homw tonight I'll post it up for you.

I have Pacesetter LT's and the TSP true duals with bullets but just remember I have a MS4 cam so its gonna sound more radical than stock motor.

Let me know in a pm if you want to hear it or not

Save yourself some money/hassle and do the duals first..... you'll eventually do them anyway when you find that a cutout only sounds good at idle & WOT. Sounds like poo during normal driving.

I have had nothing but compliments running MS4, LT's, ORY and open cutout. I dont drive my car very often, but when I do it really turns heads and the sheer volume makes my 8 year old cry. LITERALLY.

Thanks guys guess ive got some thinking to do but jmm98LS1 is probably right. I diddnt think this would be that hard of a choice. As far as the TSP's TD setup goes is it something I can do in the garage with basic tools or would you advise letting a local shop install it?

I had the same setup as you. I had the magnaflow first. Then I went with some LT's which I thought made the magnaflow sound great. After a couple months I just wasn't happy with it anymore. I ended up trading a guy my magnaflow for some TSP TD's w/ sweet thunders and I'm in love. At first I thought holy **** this thing sounds mean and loud. I thought it was too loud to be honest. After a couple weeks I fell in love with the sound of td's and I don't really notice how loud it is anymore.

As long as you can get the car up a decent amount you should be fine. I'd suggest having a friend help you out so you can get them to tuck up nicely. Having another person also helps when its time to mark the spots to drill for the hangars. When I did mine, I jacked the car up and put the car on four ramps. I had wood underneath the ramps so it was about 12-14 inches off the ground which was plenty. Overall its a very straight forward install and shouldn't take more than a couple of hours.
