LS6 intake results

LS6 intake results A friend and I installed the intake with no problems - being very careful to snake that booster hose around and avoid the oil pressure sender. Two sets of hands really helps with that. As is typical, I ditched my EGR and disabled it with EFILive. Here are my observations:
- My exhaust note got surprisingly deeper and louder. There's more burble at idle. Friends have commented on it.
- Driveability improved. Part throttle torque feels stronger and the engine feels smoother overall.
- Two weekends at the track, at 3000-3300 DA, performance improved on average about .05-.07 and .5-.7 mph compared to the previous runs at the same DA's.
- I noticed less Knock Retard on my track runs - my old intake was oily. So I installed a catch can to keep this one clean.
- My mileage has gone down - I haven't measured how much, but it's quite noticeable. Fuel trims are way up. Some tuning may help here.

I like mine also. There seems to be more midrange torque under partial throttle. Definitely more top end under WOT. I can't wait to take it to the track. I'm still on stock exhaust manifolds and I've heared that this really works well together with headers. Whatever you do second you notice a big improvement.
I drove mine for the first time yesterday after installing the intake. I noticed a bit more power after 2,000rpm. I already have LT's, ORY and Borla. I didn't think the exhaust note changed any. I am surprised at how good it's doing without a tune.
You said you noticed your mileage drop??? With tuning (like you said), wouldnt the mileage IMPROVE, since you're getting more airflow and a little more effieciency outta your set-up? Just wondering, since i'm doing the intake/full exhaust in the next 2 months. Good results regardless.
