Victor Jr setup with Air cleaner
These single plane intakes look really good because they seem to be really strong in the top end which is where I am looking to make power. Even with very little torque it will still be enough to get the 2500lb vehicle this engine is going in moving quite quickly.
What I want to know is if I use a victor JR intake what TBs can I use?? What type should I look for? and where would I put the MAF? So I am wondeing how you guys did your setups. I think if I want to use a MAF I have to get a sheetmetal elbow from intakeelbows.com but I'm not sure. I know I will probably have to cut a huge hole in the hood but I'm not too worried about it.
Also I know when everything is said and done I will probably spend as much as I would for a fast intake (which I think is overpriced) but I figure this is a better match for what I'm looking for as well as better for my future mods which include a nitrous plate system (which would you guys suggest for up to a 250-300 shot) or a d1sc or F1c procharger.. I am basically building this car as a street racing terror/ quarter mile machine.
Btw if I do end up running this single plane intake with a huge cam some nice heads with a huge tb or a 4 barrel tb and a huge air cleaner... wont a stock 75mm MAF be a bit of a restriction on this setup and whats the cheapest solution to fixing that issue.

It wont be a stock style setup its going to have heads/ huge cam and nitrous.. possibly a procharger later
A few other things need re routing. I connected the MAP sensor to a vaccume port on the T/B vi a short length of rubber vacume hose. The purge solenoid I relocated to the trans tunnel and connected it to a port on the side of the manifold. The PVC connection I just re routed a bit to another vaccume port on the front of the T/B
There's another pic of this on the forum here but I'll post it again

Cheers

I should have some Dyno comparison figures for it soon. I've just pulled the manifold off and loaned it to a friend of mine. He has a similar engine setup to mine in his Cobra. He's tried the LS6 Manifold with a ported stock 75mm T/B. An LS2 manifold with a 90mm Holley T/B and is now considering a 4BBL setup like mine. We figured try it out before buying one and see if it makes any more power than the previous manifolds.
Cheers
Michael
