Hey guys check this out , this will be my set-up but I was wondering if leaving the stock h-pipe where it is normally be ok with the x-pipe section installed to?? So I would have a x-pipe before the moroso's and a h-pipe after them, will that affect anything?? Check out the pic to see where everything is/will be.

**Pic came out shitty but you can see where the x pipe will be and where the h-pipe would be *H-pipe toward the bottom)

I didn't read the whole thread but i'll put in my .02.
My friend wanted some mufflers on his race car so i told him to get the same exact magnaflow mufflers i have. i have the big *** ones, one on each header and thats it.
https://ls1tech.com/forums/generation-iii-external-engine/502513-magnaflow-s-off-kook-s-headers.html
They flow EXACTLY like a bullet (the words least restrictive "muffler" but are ASSLOADS quieter. Did he listen to me? nope he bought spiral flows and lost 40 rwhp up top.
The more power you make the bigger the HP loss will be.
Granted he also put a crappy x pipe on it too but lets say the x pipe lost him 20 and the mufflers lost him 20.

Well I can tell you that his problem was putting them onto the collector, if he had them downstream of the headers and the x-pipe before the mufflers then the HP loss would have been A LOT less. I know the morosos will cause a bit of hp loss but no where near 40 RWHP maybe MAYBE at the most 6-8 rwhp in a high HP application.

Hey guys, not to let too much out of the bag but I am in the process of opening up a shop for all out race C5 stuff, one of my products will be true 3" all the way out exhaust for the Vettes, and we will be using the Moroso spiral flow mufflers. In my opinion the minimal power loss ( and I mean minimal, like 1-2 flywheel HP) from a straight through bullet designed muffler is well worth the great sound of these mufflers.

i dont really see the point of adding the H pipe when you already will have an X pipe on the car. the pressure will already equalized and i dont think you'd be gaining anything...if i read your picture right

it looked like you were gonna have an X, mufflers, then an H. no need for the H IMO.

my pacesetter headers from TSP, jeg's x pipe kit, moroso spiral flows, high flow cats and flowmaster reducers just came in this week. should be installed in the next couple weeks, depending on when i can find a lift.

Moroso spiral flows sound TERRIBLE IMHO. I just had my Lanes x-pipe put on this morning. It's all 3" and dumps at the axle. I have magnaflow metal core cats after each header. The system came with moroso spiral flows so I wanted to see what they sounded like before I swapped them out. I started the car and it was soo quiet. I revved it a few times and it just sounded like duke, just like every video clip I've heard of spiral flows. It wasn't the sound for me at all, but I drove around for 45 minutes just to see if I could like it. It was way too quiet though and just not for me.
Luckily, I already had two 3" short powerpack muffler from Classic Chambered Inc. The powerpacks are just like the powersticks only without the crimps. I had those installed in place of the spiral flows and it is perfect. I love it. The car got louder & it's much more aggresive & mean. My set up on my WS6 for the last 5 years was headers, offroad y-pipe, and GMMG. That is the sound that I like & this setup matches it, only without the rasp. I can only imagine what this setup would sound like without cats!

Spiral Flows FTL!!!

Heres my 2 cents....
After the LT's, right at the tunnel brace for the transmission is where the x pipe should go. The headers need some piping to build up volume. The x pipe will not have the scavenging effect if it's put too close to the headers. The scavenging effect will improve power and low end driveability. Anyways, after the x pipe there should be piping leading to the rear. On mine, I'm putting my Moroso's on both sides of the rear bumper. Again, you need volume to push through the mufflers. I have the CME so I'm cutting the stock pipe and add the mufflers to my exit. I find out impossible to believe 40hp was lost and adding the mufflers under the transmission will cause clearance issues. I have always put my mufflers towards the rear of the car. I have seen dyno sheets with these mufflers compared to dumps or cut outs and a most of 2-3hp was lost through the curve with these. Thats my knowledge.

After installing my cam these things don't sound "tame" at all. I am even happier now with the muffler I chose

Ok guys I went to the exhaust shop yesterday morning to get it all welded up and I decided to go with a 3" h-pipe right behind the header collectors and in frt of the moroso's, there was not eneough room in there for him to fab me up a custom X-pipe and the moroso's could not fit in the back, it sounds incredible, pulls like mad and this is untuned so I know its got a bit more in it, here are some pics:

This is how I drove it to the exhaust shop

And this is it complete (its all painted to match now)

And the moroso's sound very tame while cruising and at idle but anything after about 35% throttle is when it starts to open up......LOUD, the moroso's are def worth the money.
