Ok I just ordered 2 3" moroso's, looks like I wont be installing my hi-flo cats (I will sell them on here) but I will have to connect the morosos directly into the header collector then run pipe to connect to x-pipe.

I belive you want to X pipe to be closer to the headers to keep up/ utilize the velocity coming out of the headers. The mufflers will act as a restriction (they can only flow so much) so I believe you want to keep them towards the back where the exhaust velocity has slowed down enough that they pose less of a restriction. On my setup my bullets are right at the rear bumper

Ah, the only way I can see to get the morosos in there is to mount them up to the header collector...

Or about 2 feet downstream of the collector right in front of the x-pipe, is there any problem with running them that close to the headers/in front of the x section???

I wouldnt think that it would cause any. How does the clearance look like from under the car?

I only know one guy that has a vette, I got a WS6 so I sit higher than most vettes......
Hope it all works out man....Still counting down my days until I get to redo my exhaust.

I forget who, but I think it was "SilentXws6x" or some **** like that, he has a 408 and runs 'em right off the collector (only remember because he posted a vid where he blew a muffler off racing someone ). You will love the sound!

Yea man, I ordered them the other day (3"), I decided NOT to run my high flows, but I am going to run about 1 1/2 feet of 3" pipe off the collector then into the spirals then into the x-pipe, these will only fit into the tunnel before the tranny and wont mount up in the back, I cant wait to get home, I should have all this installed on the 10th of june

you need to put you x in front of the mufflers right behind the headers. otherwise, the scavenging effect the x has wont be as effective. insted of having somthing pulling exhaust gasses out of the headers, the exhaust gasses will have to push their way through the muffler then the x will help pull it out.

Its not going to happen man, there is no room to put those behind the x -pipe so they will have to go right in front, the x-pipe should help to pull the exhaust OUT of the spirals right? Thats what I would think it would do

Your going to have your set up done before me!!!
The more I read on this thread man, the more I think that the set up your looking for isnt going to work. I mean it can but will take some time to fab some thing up that will fit and not hurt your clearance.

Yeah know mybe going with an H-pipe would be more benificial for your set up instead of an X-pipe? Just an idea man. Best of luck on the install, will be watching for pics......

Good luck

Aw man dont say that, it better work! But they will fit into the tunnel (spirals) no problem so im not worried there, I saw a guy with a similar set up and he had pics and I am doing it pretty much the same way, why would a h-pipe be better, I thought the x-pipe AFTER the spirals would help with it

That is kewl man, I just thought maybe an H would work better than a X....Not trying to discourage your plans man....Just stating my thoughts on it. But then again, I know nothing of the undercarage of a Vette......

Here man ck this out, a guy on corvetteforum finally emailed these to me this is pretty much my exact set-up minus the cutouts, those are the same size as the spiral flows too

if you can avoid it, try not to put the mufflers before the x

an expansion chamber (which is what a muffler 9 times out of 10 is) takes away some of hte velocity and adds turbulence (sp) to the exhaust flow. this will make the X pipe less effective.

but....if clearance is the issue, by all means do what you gotta do.

Yea man it will HAVE ro be like that or else I will have to get another $200 plus dollars for mandrel bent tubes and have them custom installed in the back, if I lose 2 or 3 rwhp or having it this way I can deal with it, I would think the X after those will help with "pulling" the gases out of the spirals

Would you recommend a H-pipe installed before the morosos or a x-pipe?? If I have to I can ave my welder fab me up a custom one to go before them near the headers and not get the bassani x-pipe

would be cheaper. most will say that an H over an X is purely for sound prefrences. an H will give you better sound without rasp. an X is more prone to rasp.
