If you go to Moroso's web page a look at there pic of the spiral flow mufflers there is still an area that is straight through flow, then on the outside of that is where the chambered area is.

I just bought a pair to quiet my ride down a bit. I have bullets and it is loud. At 3k and above @ WOT I cannot talk to my passenger at all, I have to yell. I need to quiet it down a tad, so I doing Spirals.

Now dont hold me to this, this is just my guess(Will know for sure in 34 days)

The thickest part of the muffler should be 4-5 inches round.....Which means you would have about that much area on the inside as well. Pending the size of the "Spiral Flow" chambered area, would be 1-2 inches, leaving that much or more for the straight through section.

So I am thinking the straight through portion would be 1 inch at the least.

I will be home in about amonth to see my own Spiral flow mufflers first hand. They are sitting in a box in the closet waiting for installation. I will see if I can get my wife to pull on out and take a picture shooting into the opening.

Yeah I went back, to the website and seen that. I think the 3.5inch might be a lil bigger in circumference.....Maybe not.

They will flow fairly well regaurdless. I cannot wait to get mine on.

Yea I am going to go ahead and order them new I guess 3", but I hope all this will bolt up to my x pipe (headers, cats, spiral flows and a cone reducer into the X-pipe with out being too long)

I spoke to a Moroso tech about these and he said there's "hardly any backpressure" and it will reduce the sound around 7db. I think HP loss would be minimal with the spirals.

I just ordered a 3" that I'm adding to my current exhaust, it'll be in front of my Hooker Aerochamber. I know it's not a normal set-up, but I moved to Germany and I have to reduce the noise to pass inspection. Hopefully it won't sound dorked-up after I do this.

the smell isint bad. i like it infact. but its not bad, i have dumps under my car and the only time i can smell it is when im sitting in traffic, not moving. but its not overwhelming. you just know it doesnt have cats.

I had dual cut outs before my x-pipe/Spirals and ended up loosing 0 RWHP on the dyno. I picked up a few RWTQ and the overall response of the car picked up. Wouldn't trade them for anything.

no after......the xpipe is in the front, put your mufflers in the back before the transmission.

The actual x-pipe section is right at the tranny, anything after the over the axle pipes these wont fit so I think I may have to put them before the x part

why is your x-pipe so far back? why isint it up right after the headers?

nope its about 1 ft in front of the over axle pipes right where touque tube mounts to tranny (tranny is in the back)

hmm.....i really dont see why it matters if it is before or after the x. traditionally the x is up front right after the headers.
