So what would you recommend? I do not want my car to sound exotic but I am going for the most Hp possible here

 

id go with whatever fits best/most cost efficient. neither setup is going to make it fall on its face at 4k. you will be within the margin of error with either setup.

 

Is there any difference in performance with a x-pipe that has 2 pipes welded toghter to create the "X" OR a x-pipe that actually has a "true" x-pipe section?? I think ima have my welder fab me up one thats "welded" toghter to put BETWEEN my header collectors & moroso spirals that way the X is before the mufflers like it should be, what do you think? Fab up one or get the actual section, will it really make a difference?

The pics below show the differences of 2 pipes welded toghter and the other has the actual section.

 

I really like the first one. It looks like it would be the best fitting. Tight fitting for a tight fit. LOL

But looks like you got the right idea for the job. If you can get the same thign like the first pic from your fabricator for less then I say go for it. If not, then pay out the cash for it and be done...LOL

Sounds like things are coming along pretty good.

 

one word, volumetric. the "x" section has to have the same volume as both pipes combined, otherwise it will choke it out.

Yea I can prob get that made and the exhaust shop I always go to for around $200 installed and welded (along with all my other stuff)

 

Sweet man, cant wait to see the final results. Are you going to do any tuning after this is installed and broke in?

 

I should have everything installed either on friday or saturday of next week and I will post pics up and I plan on tuning it somewhat with the diablo sport tuner I have, if I cant get the tune right I will take it to a tuner.

nah, both of them look fine. what im saying is the section where both pipes come together in the X need to have enough volume to support the amount of gasses passing through both pipes. otherwise it will be like trying to cram 20 pounds of **** in a 10 pound sack.

 

bww3588 - So you mean the bigger pipe the better right?? If I have a custom one built (2 pipes welded toghter) they will be 3" each, is that eneough?? I guess im stillnot understanding it!!!

yes 2 pipes welded together is fine, as long as it doesnt cause a bottle neck. know what im saying?

I guess what you are sying is make sure there is a big eneough opening in each of the pipes before they are welded together

 

yes, make sure there is enough volume where the pipes come together to support the exhaust flow from both banks without restricting it.
