304 is the type of stainless that can be polished and will never show signs of rust like the 409. Of course, 409 is still better than the cold rolled steel the majority of headers are made from.
Looks like if using 304 SS then no need to coat.. Thanks!
Also note SS in general has a lower thermal conductivity than other steels, and will still benefit from being a ceramic coating.

Lately Ive been interested in buying some headers and did some research. IMO 304 SS is the best choice for longterm use. The only 304 SS header that im aware of is QTPs. Is there any other?
