Y-Pipe questions?

I'm new to these ls1's, i have a factory exhaust manifolds and I have a borla catback. Does buying a y-pipe delete the cats?

No you can buy a new Y pipe that will attach to the cats but there is extremely little to no gain in doing so, better off spending the money else where

First off, it depends if you live in an emission state & does that state sniff? If so, then the catted Y is the way to go. Otherwise you can get an OFY which will help significantly in the future if you plan on getting headers.

Also, another option if your state only does a visual inspection would be to make a alter an OFY to "appear" as though it has cats. That is what I did.

Also, you should think about what size to get or need.
