Default Your thoughts on my Mod list

What do yall think about my planned first group of mods? I was going to do gears and stall but I think I'm going to wait. What do you think about my expected gains from mods? The Dyno tune is mainly for the tranny...... to adjust shift points and quicker/firmer shifts.

Whisper lid 10whp
FTRA 10Whp
Ported throttled body 8whp
Hooker catback 10whp
Dyno tune 10whp

A cutout would yield more gain than a catback and with the electric one you can have quiet or mean at the flip of a switch. Other than that a lid, smooth bellows (fernco mod) and catback would start you out well.

You may want to look into a gear, that 2.73 is a little tall. Maby a 3.42 until you can get a 12 bolt . Other than that you planned mods will get you well on your way, also that cat-back would sound really well with some LT's.

Honestly I think youll be fine without the tune untill you get some bigger mods. You should use the cash to go towards something else like LTs or a new intake manifold, then have it tuned.

I thought the LS6 intake manifolds was a good intake.

Good base/starter mods .. do LT's after that and finish the exhaust then port your throttle body IMO. Keep the LS6 intake manifold unless your doing a big internal work like a heads/cam job

Looks good, but i would definitely add lt headers and Ory to that. then either get the catback or the exhuast cutout. then a dyno tune.

you're on the right track with that stuff. just skip the tune until you at least get headers. otherwise, only get a tune if YOU ARE SURE those are the ONLY mods you will ever do to your car! otherwise, you're throwing money away. you want a tune to be the last thing done to your car.

Ah my bad dude. I didnt see you had an 02. Yeah the LS6 should hold you over pretty well untill you get into internal mods. My vote goes w/ the LTs and maybe an ory like someone mentioned.

My first mods were:
Pace Setter LT's,
with True Dual Exhaust(Summit X pip and Flow Master Bullets)
Whisper LID, and got tuned in Jan 05.
O2 Extensions

I could not be happier with what I have been running with for the last 2 years. But this year I am jumping up a bit.

I will hopefully doing Cam and LS6 Intake soon. I agree with all the others here man, dont go with the cut out, if you can go with TD's, you will be happier.
Then go for Stall and gears.

Good luck with your choices brother.....

Is the sound clip of your exhaust in your sig with the cut out open? If its closed I may have to rethink my current catback selection.

I would wait to get a tune untill you get LT's or other big mods. But that looks like a great place to start.

Yeah id start out with lid, Lt's w/ory with cat back and port your throttle body do the tb bypass. Id wait on the FTRA thats something youd do as a last mod to gain maybe 4hp. Id say if you did the lid headers/ory port your throttle body and do the by-pass youd prob pick up a good 25-35hp, with a tune prob a bit more.

Then start on the rear you could def get away with 3.73's with the stock 10bolt and match it with a 3300 stall converter. And ofcourse get it tuned after that. Most tuners will do the initial tune for a good $450+ and do a retune for prob $150 or so.
