Default Radiator Baffles - Remove? Why? Why Not?

So I got a used SLP CAI duct and downloaded the install sheets
from their site, and it shows how you have to cut up one piece
of the plastic baffle and so on. Well, I'm kind of wondering
why these are even there - is the scooped up air from the dam
going to, like, turn around and go back out the nose or something?

Anyone just plain remove these sheets of black poly and notice
any ill (or good) effect? Seems to me like more nose air paths
into the radiator would be a bonus. Except for the bugs maybe.

You got it. That's just about what would happen.
Air takes the path of least resistance, and thru the rad is more resistance than back out the front.

Isn't removing those black sheets of plastic called the "free ram-air mod"? I've done that mod to my car , and I thought it was fairly noticeable (I don't have a lid yet, but I could feel a better throttle response). I guess it would be pretty similar to the SLP CAI.

I went to installuniversity.com for the instructions for the "free ramair mod".

FRA is just opening up the hole below the airbox to
allow some of that air to come up. You cut a little
bit of the plastic. I'm talking, ditch it all (except
the air dam).

This is PFRA (paid-for ram air)
