Hey Choco, I have Pacesetters, wanna race

Lol, all jokes aside, Pacesetters are the best bang for the buck, but they're not the best performers out there. If your looking for every last bit of power that can be made from headers, then turn to QTPs, Kooks, or AR headers.

Sure, I'll race ya. I'll throw a set of QTP's your way, you send me a set of AFR heads, a cam and a shot of N2O to even it out. Sounds fair to me

The Taco?!? On a header Thread?!??! Long live the Taco!!!!!!

EVERY set of Pacesetters i have seen,,,EVERYONE of them is a custy rusty piece of something. Some from just sitting in the garage and driven less than a few thousand miles a year. Rusting usually occurs within the first year of purchase,,probably depends on where you are located. Some folks swear by em, i have never owned them (and never will, and if it means anything,,,,Stainelss Steel,,do it right the first time) So, if you dont care what they look like (or perform, yes it does make a difference, they are NOT all created equal) then go with the ol Pacesetters.

No fitment issues with Hookers either. What year was your old Z28? What other mods, etc? There's a good chance that you also gained better low end torque by going to the 1-3/4 primaries over the 1-7/8.

Get the right package of heads, cam, intake, headers, etc. It's going to depend on everything as to which one will perform better. I had the choice of super comps or comps for the same price. I went with comps because the 1-3/4 will do better with my combination.

my current car is an 02 z28. my old one was a 00! both just had lid, longtubes, and catback..and both had 2.73!! i guess the ls6 helps. but i like the pacesetters alot better than my hookers. they were the 1 3/4 headers. but both are good headers no doubt!! and im running the pacesetter ory pipe and have no problems with. just your typical rubbing and banging the floorborad on hard accelerations.. but to the OP, you cant go wrong with either. i just cant see myself spending 12-1300 bucks for headers when my $500 buck pacesetters are getting it done..

Go stainless. Its hard to spend the money at first but definitly worth it in the end.

I vote for stainless Hookers over the coated Pacesetters. I don't have an opinion on quality or power, however anything coated is likely to rust and flake so I'd consider stainless if it's still in your price range.

JMHO.

Rubbing and banging will happen with any set, hooker, pacesetter, anything unless you upgrade your motor mounts or you're really lucky. Like he said, can't go wrong with either. It all depends on what you want to spend and if you're after that last little bit or not. You can get a set of stainless hooker headers from T-byrne for very reasonable, or get a lower quality set of anything ceramic coated from there or somewhere else.

lets see

cheapest thrown together header out there 400$
headers from an extremely reputable company that does tons of r&d and testing for power for 400$

man thats a tough one, all sarcasm aside there is not even an option there dude, hooker is alot better than pacesetter any day, pacesetters are not that bad but they are not tuned, equal length or anything just pipes. the hookers are equal length and tuned headers.

what boggles my mind is people still buy pacesetters for the same price you can get hookers coated shipped for 379$ from speedtweekerz or basicall the same exact price for pacesetter.

and the best option I know of is hooker stainless from speedtweekerz for 499 shipped.
