Default Pacsetter Y-pipe removal

Anyone have any tactics for removing a pacesetter y-pipe? I'am trying to pull the heads but I need to get the y off first and it is being a real pain.

I had to cut mine. Mine were indented from the clamps and wasn't budging.

That how mine is but I don't want to cut it and have to spend another $125 for a new y-pipe.

Cut it and weld a three bolt flange where it mates up with the i pipe. Thats how i have it and is a breeze to remove.

I had to bang it out the first time. After that its been pretty easy to get off and on again. Spray some wd40 in there and see if that helps.

Yeah or some PB blaster, that's what I used. Then grab the Y and shake it up and down. It'll come off, eventually.

i vote for the cutting it, then welding flanges back on, its easy and saves headaches for tranny work or anything down the road.

Yeah flanges would be sweet. Why cant all the freakin joints on our exhausts have flanges? Crap would be easier to remove and to sell later on down the road... Now I've got a LM that I had to cut...and a TSP Catted Y that I will need to cut to ship
