Default Another pacesetter thread but...

I'm a newbie to working on cars. I have searched this site for years and studied/dreamed about headers. It's all starting to become a reality pretty soon after 4 years with this car. Since I am new to getting dirty with the car I'd like to know should I dig in? or should I let someone else do the same job for an extra $200? I'm also changing plugs and wires which is another 2-$300 Job that I can save money on doing myself. Is it worth me touching it and knowing so little about getting my hands dirty with the car? Ive got some write ups from here but i'm just not sure if it's something im up for. With the money saved from labor I can have a tune and everything though.

My plan is to get Pacesetters with catted Y and plugs and wires. Any plugs and wires you recommend btw?

Maybe you guys can help me and other newbies feel better about ripping our car apart. Thanks, Michael. Any North Carolina guys want to lend a hand?

P.S.- I'm not asking what parts do I need or whats better. (typical newb ?'s)

If your not mechanically inclined at all, i'd have someone do it IMO. Its not that hard if you can do without your car for a few days(if your inexperienced). Most experienced people can install them in about 3-7 hours from what i've seen. All depends on how many tools you have, if you have someone helping you, and if you have a lift.

I would do it yourself. If you get Pacesetters, I would also definatly recommend the Jet Hot Coated Pacesetters we sell here...

I would say its all about having the right tools. It you have access to a garage and all the right tools then I would say do it yourself. I just did it last weekend with my dad. It helps to have someone there with you. It really helps to have air tools in case you need to cut anything too.

Also, if someone wants to charge you another 200 to change plugs and wires that is BS! Whoever chenges your headers can do it in like 3 minutes. If its that big of a deal and you have someone else install the headers its way easier to change them after you have headers in there.
