What kind of exhaust?
i am wanting to know what exhaust my sound best on my 01 Ws6. i want to keep it single tip, soi might have to mod some of the current choices. but i havent heard all of the exhausts lately, so i dont really know what sounds better my ws6 is stock, and will more than likely stay close to stock. i dont want obnoxious but i want something with good deep tone. i have been to ls1 sounds, and it really doesnt make everything clear.

I'm not gonna tell you what sounds the best cause I don't know. When I put my cutout on the Hooker catback I have there wasn't 5-10 RWHP between the cutout open and thru the Hooker. They flow very well. I can leave the cutout open if I wan't to set off car alarms and I can keep it closed if I wan't to listen to the radio. Enough said.

You could always do a Flowmaster, the single-inlet single-outlet ones flow well and sound great (not to be confused with the dual tip cross-flow Flowmasters). You could also do something like the 2OTL, two tips technically, but both coming out on the left side. It was stock on earlier SS's and possibly WS6s too, and along with the Dual/Dual is one of the best sounding cat-backs with headers and ORY.

I have the borla adjustable system. Instead of telling you how it sounds go here . The engine wasn't quite warm yet but it sounds pretty much the same. The only problem with borla though is the price. If you are concerned about price then don't get borla. Also if you like it quiet and want the option of it being loud get the cutout like Tainted said.

IF you are gonna stay stock with the manifolds and cats, then the following are my favorites from experience with #1 being the best:
1) GMMG
2) Loudmouth 2
3) Loudmouth 1
4) Magnaflow
4) Borla
Avoid the Hooker with stock manifolds / cats, as it will sound almost stock. A cutout is always a great option as well, and can be used with any of the above systems. I am sure that some people will argue this, so keep in mind that this is the list of my favorites. I like the LM2 better that the LM1 because I think that it has a better overall tone (with a little less volume), and the LM1 sounds like a tractor at idle. I am currently running the LM2 and I think it sounds pretty cool for a Y-pipe / cat-back setup. Magnaflow is on the quiet side, but is still a good sounding, high-quality cat-back. Borla is O.K. for some as well. There are others that are probably O.K. as well, like Corsa and TSP, but I have not heard these in person. Good luck!

Another vote here for just installing an electic cutout. With the hooker LT's, it should sound pretty nasty (good nasty) with the cutout open and shouldn't be obnoxious with the cutout closed cruising on the highway. Just my $.02.
I love the sound of my Hooker LTs, ORY and Flowmaster catback, however everyone says that Flowmaster doesn't flow very well. My simple fix for that is to open the cutout when I want the extra HP and don't have to worry about waking the neighbors!

Does it sound bad now? I am thinking of getting an x pipe and two Loudmouth mufflers and doing side exit, with stock cats and manifolds for now.
