Value over power?
Im planning an LS1 swap into my '89 iroc. Ive come up with a few different mod combo's, but im trying to hit the perfect combonation of "Best bang for the buck" Obviously i can spend tonnes of money for a super powerful motor, but i dont have the cash to spent to the moon.
Im trying to determine which parts are worth the cash for the increase in output/ efficiency they create.
So, ive come up with 2 combo's. Both, by my calculations, should make over 400hp, seeing they are essentailly LS6 engines.
Im looking for some input on this, feel free to move things between my 2 combo's to help me out, im new to the LSX world, and seeing im only 16, new the car world in general, though id like to say im fairly knowledgable towards the subject.
Anyways, here are my builds:
Build one: Approximate cost (excluding taxes, some parts used parts): $2000(give or take)
LS1 Short block:
LS6 Intake

GMPP Hotcam - 218/228 @.050 - .525/.525 lift

Stainless works Long tube conversion headers (to fit into my iroc)
Combo 2: $3800
LS1 Shortblock:
FAST Polymer intake

Comp Cam: 228/232 @.050 -.581/.588
Patriot CNC Ported LS6 heads (227cc, 58cc chambers, 310cfm @ .600lift)

All help extremely appreciated.
