Default what y pipe works with hooker headers?

the 00 TA i just bought has hooker headers and true duals. i'm not a fan of the duals at all. i don't like the sound and i have no room to lower it.

i want to go with a hooker cat back... i know the also have a y pipe, but i was wondering if any other one would work....

is pacesetter a clone of the hooker? thanks for the help.

Get some flex couplers. That'll help with any minor inconsistencies in the designs. Ideally though, most LS1 headers exit in roughly the same spot. You may need to do some minor modifications to any y-pipe you buy.

any reason why you dont want to use the hooker Y? you would most likely get the best fitment using there Y since the whole exhaust system would be hooker. using a Y from a different brand probably wont hurt, but since your concerned about clearance/fitment i would assume that you would get the most/best using there complete exhaust system...its all been made to work together. just my .02

I think either a Jet hot or a TSP will work with hooker. My jet hot fitts really good and doesn't bang on the floor. The only prob i have with the jet hot y is the merge blows. It is more of a T than a y.....it makes the exhaust a little more raspy. As far as I know the hooker and the TSP merges are not great either.

You can get a Jet Hot from WS6 store for 225 shipped..............about the same price as a hooker Y.......Jet Hot is coated and comes with really nice stainless clamps too

I would suggest having one fabbed at a local exhaust shop. That way there will be no clearance issues.
