Header Install Problem I just installed a set of mac headers w/ory on my 98 Z28 today. I haven't got any o2 sims yet. When I got everything back together, I tried to start her up. This is where it all started. It took for ever for it to turn over. When I got it started up I let it idle for a few minutes and then it sounded like a freakin bomb went off under the car. It did that twice before I could get to the car to shut it down. 
If anyone has any advice of what to do or what this may be please let me know.

Re: Header Install Problem This might sound simple but have you made sure you didn't crack a spark plug? And make sure you don't have any loose conections from coil to plug. A possible misfire on one or more cylinders could cause the conditions you mentioned.

Its friggin annoying...
I thought it was my Granatelli MAF so I swapped it out and it got a little better...gonna switch the 02s now, see what happens

Re: Header Install Problem Well, still haven't found the problem. Couldn't find any connectors that were loose. I pulled the driver's side plugs (Brand new TR6s) and two them were black and the other two still looked new. Hmmmm. Then I thought it might be the coil pack harness. The 98s don't have a bracket they mount to and I thought it might have gotten turned around throwing the timing out of wack. Well it wasn't that either. I gave up for tonight, will resume work tomorrow after work. Keep the suggestions coming guys.

Re: Header Install Problem Is it running pig rich and bellowing black smoke? If so, check the temp sending unit and make sure it's not damaged. It's really easy to break it when doing a header install.

I had the coil harness mixed around on the wrong coils. That's why it was detonating so badly and it took for ever to turn over.The timing was off horribly. I just matched the harness back up with the right coils and life is good. 
Very badass sounding BTW.
