Not used in Corvette's. This is the fixed orifice valve specified for trucks and SUV's to help control the oil ingestion issue.

I would suggest placing the PCV valve between the intake and catch can. Here is mine:

Getto.. keep track on the oil usage of both the before and after PCV, maybe put some tape on the side of it and mark it. I'd be interested in what your findings are.. that might put an end to some of the debates ! maybe I should just add a 2nd PCV, one before and one after LOL...

Since I don't DD it, let alone put any consistant milage to be able to reproduce the test... I would not be able to get a good reading of the oil usage.

keep us posted...

Sorry about that, the forum was kinda screwy when I posted that and had no idea it posted 3 times. Extraneous posts deleted.

When I picked mine up at the dealer the parts guy had a part no. for the Corvette, I guess it was for the motors that didn't have the newer setup. Can't see why they would have a part number if it wasn't used on the car unless they decided to just get rid of the original PCV and go with only that one?

This is a Norris Breather can on my car .

It stops ALL the oil from getting back into my intake and deletes the pcv all together .

The PCV part number for the C5 is a normal style PCV valve, not the fixed orifice style.

=ZoomZ=: Im leaning more towards doing exactly what you did. Get the norris can with a breather on top.

Since I have none of the PCV system except for whats shown, would I just run the one fitting over to the valley cover vent and thats it? Cap off the intake?

That can works basically like putting a breather on your oil fill cap right? Except instead of coming right out the cap, it goes through the catch can. Does that set up make it so NO oil comes out through the filter? That was my concern about using the breather on the cap...I didnt want oil mist on the outsider OR the inside of my intake. haha.

The breather can stops ALL oil from getting into the intake .

I dont have the valley cover vent , just the 2 valve cover vents .

"T" your vents together and run them into the breather can and your done .

The picture of my setup was after about 2k miles and there is a little residue but nothing stupid . I wiped off the top chrome K&N cap and snapped the picture .

I thought about going that route but decided to get the closed loop can. You should of put the T near the rear of the vc would of been cleaner.

actually let me get back to you on that one, I have the stock plastic line running to the rubber pcv holder thing without a clamp, i'll clamp it up and see if it helps...did everyone leave in the filter or remove it?

I meant the hard filter/seperator inside the husky unit...

it was leaking through the hole for that useless ground strap on the pcv valve holder...I put soem heat shrink around it to seal it up...

Has anyone cut the plastic tube a pcv valve with fitting on both ends on it so it won't be in the way?
