Default Fast 78 to 90...worth it?

Current setup:

ARE Short block (Stock crank, Stock Rods, Forged Pistons)
PRC Stage 2.5 LS6 Heads with Double Springs
T-Rex cam
ASP Underdrive Pulley
Fast 78mm Ported intake
Ported Stock TB
QTP 1 3/4" Long Tub headers
Custom 3" H-Pipe into two Dynomax Ultra Flow mufflers Dumped

I'm looking for another 15 rwhp. Will it be worth it to upgrade to a 90mm upper-shell and 90mm Tbody? Maybe a Meziere h20 pump?

I'm sure this has been covered eleventy-billion times, but I can't get the search to work for ****.

With more cubes, or a power adder for sure. With a t-rex, and heads i would say it would be worth it if you want every last bit of na power. Its just so expensive for the power you will get out of it. I think with the fast 90, and nw 90 combo with a tune you might get your 15 whp out of it you are looking for. Good luck, Chris

If you need to get the entire fast 78 off your hands fast shoot me a PM and we'll talk. This'll only work if you want to get rid of it right away though.

I have a fast 78 and a ported tb on the way and I'm hoping to get a little more than an ls6 with ported tb when I get it dynoed here in a couple of weeks.

Lately I've been seeing some guys selling 90/90 combos for under a grand used so you can pick it up for a little cheaper that retail. So if you do that, then sell your 78 combo to PC you might be able to get out of it with not such a huge dent in your pocket.

But like said before, unless your going big cubes or FI your probably better to spend your money elsewhere. That was the deciding factor for me and I got a smokin deal on my 78 and ported tb. There is going to be guys that say go for it because you WILL pick up more hp and they are right and you should definatly hear some of thier stories as well.

Good luck.

I wouldn't bother. Since your 78 is already ported you're getting nearly the same flow as the 90. The only difference between the 78 and 90 is the TB opening. The intake volume, runners and everything else is identical. For the $600~$700 it would cost for the 90 top and TB I'd go with the electric water pump.
