Before mounts: Good
After mounts: Great
It's amazing the difference they make the engine feel. You get more car movement when the engine torques over but no more vibrations or strange noises than with the stock mounts. Also keeps the exhaust pipes from banging on the floor. I changed mine when I put better heads on, made it so much easier to do. Got mine from www.thunderracing.com, sponsor >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Thanks for the replies fellas
Any certain brands to look for? Or will the poly mounts for an LS1 Fbody from Thunder Racing pretty much do the trick? I didn't think there could be a big difference in any of them.

I did them by myself in my driveway on jackstands in 85 -90 degree heat, i was doing my headers aswell. Its kinda PITA to drill out the stock clamshells. I didnt have much trouble at all putting them back in, i just jacked up the engine, slid it in, finger tightened everything and lowered the engine back down. It didnt wanna slide in perfectly so i used a crowbar and pushed the engien forward and it dropped right into the mount.

i swapped poly ones in with the new motor which might attribute to some of the vibration but if i were to do it again id only do one side and a new stock one on the other side. its alot closer to a solid mount feel than i wanted but better than the sloopyness that was there with the old ones and old motor.

I helped install them on my buddies car, he had hooker long tubes with caused some interference but nothing terrible. Theres one bolt thats a pain to get and you have to inch it out slowly. Other then taht make sure teh mount is in properly and LINE UP TEH HOLES FOR THE BOLTS ON THE CLAMSHELL. My buddy assembled one taht was slightly off and teh bolt wouldnt thread in and kept going cockeyed and we spent 2 hours trying to get the right angle to get it in. Never could get it so we pulled it out and saw the problem, lined it up and it went in in 10 minutes.

If you have the headers out I would highly recommend doing it then. I also did a H/C swap using the MS4 at the same time as the mounts. So I really can't say how big of a difference there was. With the cam the motor doesn't move much at all. It surely doesn't tilt or rock either. My mirrors shake a bit but I like it.
