Default Saving Gas.

So, I recently put on my first set of mods on my car, which included the Lid/Bellows/KN filter. Pretty standard. Besides being able to hear a difference at WOT, my fuel milage jumped from 175-185 to 200-210 per tank. Just thought I would share that with everyone. Thank you and Come again!

once I got like 170 on a tank and I was pissed hahaha. I always go for like 220+ when I'm trying to save gas. I've done as good as 240 before with city/expressway driving and like 360 on the highway.

Yeah well, I am going on "Just got the new toy!" driving too. She gets a whole lot better miliage on teh expressway, but I dont get on one that much. Work is only a couple miles away. 4.3 to be exact. I hate being a suburbanite.

you had a bone stock T/A getting 180 miles to a tank? i get over 300 miles to a tank. i don't hit the center slash until 170, and i've been getting 22 mpg on the summer blend of fuel (18 mpg in the winter). i have a lid, FTRA, catback and a cutout...my mpg's been good. after headers and a tune, i expect even more. sounds like you could use a tune-up my friend.

Care to enlighten me as to how you're getting 70 MPG in the city?

I get an easy 270+ per tank and I drive it spirited. A lot of my use is city as well. I definately think you either need a tune-up or need to back off the gas a bit. Try letting your car shift a bit lower.

^^^i think that was sarcasm, but in case you were serious, he meant 30% highway driving, 70% city driving.

Well other than changing the plugs and putting in a new fuel filter and possibly a seafoam treatment, how would I go about restoring my milage?

I try not to watch my gas milage cause I know I wont like it no matter what.

But, I know when I drive from here in Orlando to Atlanta, its just over 500 miles and I can make it on barely over 1 tank of gas doing 90mph, 2000 RPMs and t-tops off.

Our cars are just idiot proof. GM figured if they told us our car was empty when we still had 2 - 2.5 gallons left we would never run out of gas

Really I think it might have something to do with keeping the fuel pump cooled in the proper amount of gas so it does not burn out any more often than they already do.

If you run it low enough you will see. Your manual will tell you its 15.5 also. I've gotten it low enough to get 14.2 or something in it.
