Professional Products Intake Arrived..
Well, I know things have been iffy, but I don't think I've got anything to lose....So, I'm gonna try it out and see what happens.
Intake got here last night, all the pieces look nice enough, only thing wrong was that mine came with the paper style gaskets. I called up Prof. Prod. and they were extremely nice to deal with. My new O-Ring style gaskets are on the way. Mine is part # 52061 for anyone interested in how it does....
I'm dropping it off this afternoon to get ported and cleaned up. A good friend of mine is a machinist and he's excited about the project to .
As soon as the porting is done, we'll be putting the car together to see how she does...

Definitely keep us posted on the install and results. I've been following these intakes for awhile now and I'm really on the fence about getting one due to rumors of questionable fitment and results. I have read about good service though so hopefully all the bugs are being worked out. I have an LS1 manifold but would upgrade to the Professional Products for the appearance if the performance is equal or better to an LS6 intake. Consensus sounds like it is, but not as good as the FAST intake??? Anyone with input on this, post up!!!

85mm TB, I've got a ported stock one. I hope it works well for a nitrous car, because I'll be plumbing it for my direct port before it ever goes on the car.
I'll definitely keep you updated on everything, hoping the port job helps open it up a bit. Also hoping it seals up nicely and whatnot...

i actually have have ran my intake at the track already vs. my ls6 intake. i actually lost 1 tenth and 1mph. I could say the 1 mph was because of going from drag radials to slicks but i dont know about the e.t. I WAS at a diff track than usual so i hope thats the reason for the change. i have the intake off right now to put the new gaskets on and ill keep you posted. I also do not have the 85mm tb i have a stock ported one.

i have used some of the parts in the past on different motors (not GM's), id seriously doubt that manifold makes 1 HP more then an LS6, and its gonna heat soak, but please keep us informed of your results!

I have heard major problems with the Typhoon as far as fuel leaks and the manifold not sealing correctly to the cylinder heads. I went with an LS6. Same gains and it's cheaper and still looks stock. If you must have something that doesn't look stock get the BBK SSI from New Era Performance for $399.99. Or you could just wait it out and save up for a FAST 90/90. Even though a lot of guys run that set-up, I can't justify spending $1000 on 15-20 extra horses. I'd rather put the $1000 toward a 9-inch rearend.

If you need some help with the install, let me know. Expect it to idle bad first couple of times. It really needed a tune to get it right. Watch for leaks at the fuel rails and dont over tighten anything. I pinched an injector oring, so I would suggest you get a top and a bottom or two as spares before you start wrenching.
My results are here, in case you are curious: https://ls1tech.com/forums/showthrea...hlight=typhoon
