lower control arm relocation brackets

lower control arm relocation brackets to start off I have an 01 trans am. I have a set of box style, non-adjustable lower control arms. I finally got the lower control arm relocation brackets put in and it moved my rear tires like half an inch back 
!! i have the stock heigth and stock rear end. i know it was the lower control arm reloctaion brackets cause i have had the lower control arms for a while and it was perfectly fine until i put the brackets in. i followed the instructions correctly. wats wrong here???

well i put them on with weight off and tightened them with weight on just like the directions say. I got the brackets from umi performance and the lower control arms are BMR. if i take off the brackets the tires center up so its the brackets. i really dont think its suppost to do this because the springs arc a bit, not to much but just a bit. im in the process of tweeking them just that its freakin hot so ill wait a bit.

dam it!!! ive tried everything and no luck! the tires are still way back! ive tried tightening the shock bolt last then first with weight off and on puttin it on the top hole and bottom hole. the only way the tires are centered is without the relocation brackets. whe the hell?!! could it be that they manufactured the brackets wrong???

i did measure it from different points and it is further back with the brackets . it should be centered, i dont think its normal because the springs are arched and its like an inch from the back fender. but i guess ill send them back to umi for a refund.
Well our rearends arent exactly centered from all angles to begin with. These brackets are good parts, just get you some adjustable LCA's. Check in with Bryan over at Pavlock Performance, he makes some that are top notch at a very reasonable price. And only $10 bucks to ship.

You're talking about how it appears within the wheelwell, correct? Mine did the same thing with the weld-on relo brackets from BMR. I figured that was to be expected since I did lower the vehicle and relocate the connecting point for the LCAs.

yes, adj. control arms will correct the problem and center the axle under the springs and center it in the wheel well again. BUT, Ive seen some made before that the holes are not in a straight line. as the control arm moves down the holes, it should move closer to the rear of the car inside the pocket. if Im remembering it right. also, if you do go the adj. control arm route, (or just in general) you should consider a 4 wheel alignment to make sure the rear axle is squared, and not angled to one side. then the car would dog track down the road.
