Default Is it worth it at this point?

As my little engine tranny upgrade gets closer to completion it brings up a question. I've got pretty much every bolt on minus an EWP (which I wont be doing) and a MAF sensor. I know in general a MAF is useless on a lightly modded car, but what about for me? I'll be pushing 400+RWHP, and was considering the Z06 upgrade. If its a worthwhile thing to do, I'll go ahead and save up for it now so that when I have it all back together I can have the car tuned with that MAF on.

so please, knowledgable posts only! Is it worth it for me or no?

it's not worth it yet. Also, I would make sure you have an 85mm lid too because what is the point if your lid is smaller than your maf. It will basically turn your maf back into a 78mm. And if your gonna do it, you need to have it retuned as it won't be accurate.

I found an amazing deal on a used 85mm lid & maf & had them installed when I got my heads/cam/tuning done & it's workin out great

I also think with your mods you'll be pushing around 360 rwhp, not 400

Just get ported MAF ends like I did. I can't say they helped at all, but they were cheap and certainly can't hurt. I can't see spending the money on a bigger unit if there's no proof it does any good.

The heads are still 241s so maybe you'll make 380rwhp. I would say dyno it first and then report back

As long as you got headers and an LS6 intake I don't see why you couldn't see 400 or better. I'm told by LPE that i'll dyno 400 to the wheels with just my cam and bolt ons (assuming a competent tuner i'm sure).

you may, I can't say for certain, but you do have an auto & a larger than stock torque converter. They are known for draining power. I hope you do break 400rwhp but I don't want you to freak out if you dyno it and you don't hit those numbers

oh yea I know the whole stall thing. theres a formula for calculating the hp you'd make with a stock stall though. I know ill prolly not make the 400 unlocked but maybe locked. my goal isnt to be a dyno queen but low low 12's and high 11's with some grip and maybe some suspension
