actually, some have gotten near 20 more horses by going with TDs, but it is usually with 3'' bullets dumped and is all up-top.

I am thinking about getting headers for my car. But only 15-25 hp, man thats not that much. Not for how much headers cost for these cars. If I do it's going to be the OSX headers. Then I will need to get a LS6 manifold, then a tune, and I might as well go ahead and put the 4.10's in it if i'm getting it tuned.

Oh it never ends.

You can see here are my gains from Stepping Up to true duals from a stock ypipe setup. Headers were already on the car and I just added Bassani TDs, (with linear Magnaflow high-flow cats), which come with a volumetric xpipe crossover. The Bassani kit has all the airflow of straight pipes. No rinky dink piece of $hit crossover in this top shelf kit.

so it basically looks like you just gained torque... correct?

That's right. Just about 20 lb/ft, from a TDs. Later on I changed the Bassani "chambered" muffler for a dual-in dual-out dynomax stainless steel muffler from Jegs, and dynoed relatively speaking the exact same curve.

interesting... that is a nice jump in torque... just odd you got only 1hp out of it... but hey it's still a gain somewhere so...

Well my buddy with a 98 Z28 A4 with just Long tubes, ORY, LID, and Pulley put down 338 to the wheels. Stock A4 puts down anywhere from 280-300 so im sure he gained at least 25 if not more to the wheels from his longtubes.

Well my last dyno was 328/338 with lid/cutout.

Then i added Ported TB, ls6 intake, longtubes,ORY, dual dual muffler and a tune and got 341/345. It was on two different dynos so i couldn't tell you how much i gained. If i gain hopefully 4mph on my trap speed, ill be happy!

I had 312/322 with lid, magnaflow catback, descreened maf, TB bypass. Not sure if I had done the maf and TB before or after. Now have QTP's installed, new TR55's and MSD's and after they richened me up top, mine put down 331/341. I still need the Ls6, ported TB, and UDP. The cam is where it really becomes additive. I think they are all really worth 15-20 on stock bolt on cars, 25-35 with cam/bolt ons, etc. Keep in mind, we installed a Pacesetter Y and they had to cut it and weld in several places.

Huh, now you got me thinkin, I don't know why it lossed 1 hp. Actually if you ask me, there has to be a reason for it. Hopefully someone more knowledgable about airflow and velocity can chime in. I know it's not the cats, because they are high flow magnaflow converters, which should flow a heck of a lot better than the little stock converters that were originally on the car.

I put my LT's on in the winter time. It was a dramatic difference the first time I opened her up. Now Im use to it and its slow again. I did pick up 2 tenths in the quarter and approx 4-5mph.

i wouldnt say you lost any hp. every time you dyno a car the results can be off by a bit (i forget exactly how much but i think it's at least 1%). so going with a 300 hp car you can do back to back dynos and show a loss or gain of 3 hp. so in theory you could've actually gained 2 hp but it showed up as a loss of 1 (just something to make you feel a little better).

its hard to tell how much you gained unless you use the same dyno/operator.

I used the same dyno/operator. Here you can read about my conundrum:
