Question Realistic gains from LT's...

So guys... i've heard all sorts of different numbers... but REALISTICALLY what do you think the typical RWHP gains are to an intake/cat-back only F-body....

my opinion is 20 rwhp, iv seen a mag article that dynatech did a before n after dyno and gained 20 rwhp,13 rwtq. also iv seen in TPIS catalog they claimed a 22 rwhp gain on a 2001 z06. i hav NOT seen any data to back SLP claim of up to 41 rwhp (in their catalog) . hope that helps ps i think you need a tune after install to see those numbers but thats just from a guy whos sunk some bucks and i dont see big rwhp from my car even thou its much faster than stock with all my mods. just my 2 cents!

I'd also say about 20 hp. If nothing else you will definately feel it pull stronger from mid-upper rpm's.

Hmmm... that's pretty good gains... hell i'm getting the parts and install for free so i can't complain...

I remember when I worked at RKSport we sold the Dynatech LT's and they had a dyno showing 36 RWHP

But then again I don't remember what mods were done to the car...

I think 20 to the wheels is a realistic number.

well if your only getting anywhere from 15-35rwhp just depending, then I wonder what you will get if you just do a true dual exhaust from the stock manifold back?

You're looking at ~30+ rwhp gain with tuning and gains across the rpm. You're also looking at a fatter midrange if you move to true duals with xpipe crossover. Trust me I've been there.

SLP says they have seen gains of up to 45 hp by using hier LT and ORY setup. Most people I have talked to said they only picked up around 17RWHP. They must have been running a really hot car on stock manifolds before they made those numbers.

They forgot to mention that they added 2 more cylinders to the engine as well....

I went from 306HP to 349HP with QTP headers, 2.5 inch true duals over the axle with cats + solo performance mufflers + tune.

Without the tune, it made 344HP.

So I'm gonna say that they add give or take 30HP since I don't think true duals over a good 3 inch catback/muffler will yield anything more crazy than around 10HP.
